The Fort Bend County MUD 165 (FB MUD 165) Board of Directors want residents to know about the Fort Bend County Project Lifesaver Program.
Project Lifesaver is a program for individuals with cognitive disabilities such as autism, dementia, Alzheimer's, or traumatic brain injury who have a history of wandering from home. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office program helps locate individuals that have gone wandering. They do this by offering free radio transmitter bracelets to help locate wandering loved ones.
Project Lifesavers technologies are being utilized by the Sheriff's Office both in the prevention of wandering and the recovery of a client in the event of elopement.
Project Lifesaver has strategically designed methods and techniques for the specific use of recovering individuals with a cognitive condition. When applied by first responders these innovative strategies enable the most efficient rescue of an eloped client.
Project Lifesaver also provides first responders with a basic understanding of cognitive conditions, giving them the necessary tools needed to respond to an elopement and to assess and effectively manage the safe and comfortable return of an eloped client.
